This 6.5ha forestry right offers the successful purchaser an entry level forest investment where all of the hard work has been done. The pine forest was established in 2005 (now 16 years old) and all silvicultural tending is complete, so now all you have to do is wait until it's time to harvest. The forest has been managed as a framing stand with some low-pruning completed.
The forest is situated in the Rai Valley, known for its high growth rates and high density logs, and is ideally situated between Nelson and Blenheim to give multiple options for export ports and domestic processing. A logging road running along the bottom provides easy access to Ronga Road, just 200m away. It is expected that logging will be ground-based and will need just one skid site.
Harvest proceeds are to be split 80% forest owner and 20% landowner. This forestry right expires in 2035. No annual land rental is payable so holding costs will be low.
The forestry right does not include any carbon credits or land.
Entry is by appointment only so please contact Angus Malcolm for an information pack and to arrange a viewing.
