Raised in rural New Zealand on the family dairy farm, I have experience in various farming operations including sheep, beef, cropping and contract milking. Although I moved into town, Nelson, in the early 1990s my involvement with the land and animals continued in my role as a warranted inspector with the SPCA for 10 years. I’ve always tried to contribute to the community where I live and I have served on both the volunteer fire brigade and ambulance for 7 years.
These days my sporting involvement is limited to swinging a golf club, a lifetime of sports including 20 years of senior rugby followed by coaching at age group and senior level.
